Rara Lake Trek Detail Itinerary for 2022
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)
After the arrival in Kathmandu with astonishing view of the Himalayas as you descend to Kathmandu for landing, you are picked up and transferred to the hotel. The hotel is located at the famous tourist’s attraction place in the town where you can have shopping for the trekking and souvenirs to take back home. Further, you can also enjoy the clubs and bars around the area which has the best hanging places in the town.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu World Heritage Sites and Prepare for Trek and Permit.
Today is kind of a rest day as it doesn't contain more traveling, this day is more likely a day to prepare your documents and make sure you have enough gears for the trek. Furthermore, we still continue the day visiting different world heritage sites in Kathmandu meanwhile your documents are made ready.
We are more likely to visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa or Pashupatinath Temple which is all listed on the UNESCO world heritage site. On this day you get the quick tour of Kathmandu city. Later in the evening, you can visit pubs and clubs around Thamel and get prepared for the early morning bus to Pokhara the following day.

Day 03 Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (150m) 1 hrs
On this day we take a flight from Kathmandu domestic terminal to Nepalgunj, Nepalgunj is a city in west Nepal and also a sub-metropolitan city of Banke District with regional airport which hosts connecting flights to the remote regions in western Nepal. This city borders with India therefore you are more likely to encounter with them. Since we the connecting regional flight to Jumla is not highly dense and unpredictable, therefore we wait for the flight to Jumla next day.

Day 05 Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla (2,540m) 25 minutes
On the 5th day, we board on a small plane basically twin-otters from Nepalgunj airport to Jumla Airport. The flight time is almost 25 minutes and the roadway to Jumla is very dangerous and risky and recently opened.
Jumla is an urban town in Northwestern part of Nepal with an elevation of 2550 meters from the sea level. It is one of the least developed part of the country in Karnali Region. We will discover this place for the whole day and accommodate here for the night. The facilities from now on is basics.

Day 06 Trek from Jumla to Chere Chaur (3055m)
On this day we will start our trek to beautiful Rara lake, the trek starts with slow ascend towards the Khalanga, Khalanga is the market in this area with basic supply of goods. We also visit the chandannath temple on our way. After a camp of trekking we reach the village of Chere Chaur for accommodation.

Day 07 Chere Chaur to Chalachaur (2980m)
On this day we will start our trek to beautiful Rara lake, the trek starts with slow ascend towards the Jaljala Pass at the elevation of 3580 meters. From the pass, we can view the astonishing view of Kanjiroba Himal. Further more we walk up and down and reach the Jaljala chaur which is a grass land for cattle grazing. After more trek we enter the Rara circuit and accommodate at Chalachaur.

Day 08 Chalachaur to Sinja Valley (2490m)
Today we head towards the Sinja Valley situated in the bank of Hima River. We walk from Chala Chaur and pass sani gaun and take rest there, from there we can view mountains of Western Nepal. Further more we reach Narakot and enter the valley. We accommodate for the night at Sinja Valley.

Day 09 Sinja to Ghorosingha (3050m)
From Sinja we take route along side the Hima river and slowly ascend towards the Laha village, after resting in Laha Village we further move towards the upwards along side the stream up to Ghorosingha village. We ascend more than 500 meters today.

Day 10 Ghorosingha to Rara Lake (3010m)
Today after breakfast at Ghorosingha we ascend to the view point at Chhuchhemara Danda from where we view the mountain ranges like the Api Himal and Kanjirowa himal. The paranomic view is jaw dropping. After the view, we descend and pass Murma Village and Chapra village and finally enter Rara Lake area in the rara national park.

Day 11 Explore Rara Lake
On the 11th day we stay at the rara lake and explore lake, we hike up to the view point from where we view the very beautiful lake and also the mountain ranges above, the mountains reflecting in the lake is very beautiful. Also we can see the lake changing its colors from the point. We can also take horse ride for the hike. This lake is also known as Mahendra Taal on the name of Late King Mahendra of Nepal.

Day 12 Rara Lake to Pina (2440m)
Bidding good bye from Rara, we trek back to the pina village descending more than 500 meters today. Pina is a valley in Mugu District.

Day 13 Pina to Bumra (2850m)
From Pina we descend and pass the Guruchi Lanla pass today and pass several village and reach the Nauri Ghat or the Bumra village. Accomodation in Burma.

Day 14 Trek ends: Bumra to Jumla (2540m)
We cross the Hima khola several times today and walk down hill. We also visit to natural hot spring and take hot shower there in a belief of building our immunity system and finally reach Chare Chaur, further we continue towards Jumla and accommodate in Jumla for the night.

Day 15 Fly to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu
From Jumla, we take a flight from Jumla to Nepaljung in a twin-otter which is again 25 minutes along side the scenic mountians, again we take connecting flight to Kathmandu which is a 60 minutes flight. Flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu are often therefore we can catch our flight with ease. Later you can enjoy authentic nepali dinner hosted by Adventure Himalaya.

Day 16: Drive to International Airport and Departure
Checkout from the hotel. And we end our trip with you dropping at the airport and seeing you goodbye and wishing for a safe flight back home.
