Tilicho Lake Trek Introduction

Tilicho lake trekking is one of the most popular treks in the Annapurna region. People are beloved this is the highest lake in the world. Tilicho lake is situated at 4920m. The water in Tilicho lake collected from the glacier. This lake is a holy site for both Hindus and Buddhist pilgrimage from all over the world. Tilicho lakeside is a good choice for meditation. It is a sacred lake.  

Tilicho lake trek starts from Besisahar which is the starting point of Annapurna round trek. The trek goes through the Marshyangdi valley. Along the way, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the  Mt Manaslu, Mt Himal Chuli, and many other mountains. You can enjoy with many inhabited and ethnic group of people and their culture and religions.  You can fallow continue to  Manang village turn to left to the  Khanshar village. Khanshar village is the last settlement of this valley. When you finish this Tilicho lake trek tan back to Yak Kharka and continue to the  Throngla Pass 5416m  or Back to Manang Village and  Besisahar. From Tilicho lake trek you can cross Moesokanta La Pass and get to Jomsom but be careful this pass required camping equipment.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 

Upon the time of your arrival at TIA Kathmandu, one of our representative members will be waiting for you. Then you’ll be transferred to the hotel and you can have some rest. At night you can enjoy your night at thamel which is famous for its nightlife.

Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu and preparation for the trek

This is a day of exploration of Kathmandu valley. So after having breakfast we’ll start our exploring the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the valley which are Swauambhunath, Boudhanath, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath. Now you’ll have a short preparation of trek and then return back to the hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Chamje via besisahar

Now our journey starts with the astonishing ride towards Chamje. This would be a staggering ride with the beautiful trishuli river, green hills, and white snow-covered mountains. Then we’ll have our lunch at Besisahar and we’ll head towards Chamje where we’ll have our overnight.

Day 04: Chamje to Dharapani (1860m)

After having a delicate breakfast at Chamje now our trail begins towards Dharapani.  On a journey, you’ll discover the dense forests and the beautiful tal village. Then we’ll cross through the marsyangdi river which directly comes from the mountains. Then after the Dharapani, we’ll enjoy our dinner and overnight here.

Day 05: Dharapani to chame (2670m)

Now we’ll leave Dharapani and head towards the Chame village. Now on a trail, you can see the change in vegetation and climate due to high altitude. Now after crossing some small settlements you can see Chame village where we’ll have ou overnight.

Day 06: Chame to Upper Pisang (3200m)

After having breakfast at Chame, we’ll now start our trail towards upper Pisang. Now we’ll have a scenic walk through the coniferous trees and the mountain settlements then we’ll reach Upper Pisang. We’ll enjoy our beautiful night at Upper Pisang.

Day 07: Pisang to manang (3540m)

After a delicate breakfast at Pisang, we’ll now head towards the beautiful Manang village. 

On a trail, we can find the beautiful pine and rhododendron forest. Then we can see the Manang valley where we’ll spend our night.

Day 08: Acclimatization day in Manang

It is the day of exploration and to have some rest to avoid altitude sickness and to get properly accustomed to the high altitude. We’ll spend this day with a long hike to Ice Camp or by visiting the hundred rupee lama at cave gompa. Then we’ll spend our night at Manang with locals.

Day 09: Trek to Siri Kharka

Our day starts with the delicate breakfast then we’ll head towards Siri Kharka. Our trail leads us way down to the river and then we’ll pass the khangsar Khola. After then we’ll reach Siri kharka where we’ll have our overnight.

Day 10: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp

Now our trail leads us closer towards the destination. We’ll start our trail from kangsar to Tilicho Base Camp. in a journey, we can see the grassy fields and then the entire valley of Manang. Now we’ll spend our night at base camp.

Day 11:  Hike to Tilicho Lake and trek back to base  camp

After having a delicate we’ll head towards the Tilicho Lake. It would be an amazing 4 hours trek to reach our destination Tilicho Lake which is also the highest lakes in the world. After spending some time at the lake we’ll now return back to base camp.

Day 12: Tilicho Base Camp to Yak Kharka

After breakfast, now our trail heads towards the Yak Kharka village. We’ll now travel through the Marsyandi Valley from where you can feel the change in vegetation. Then we’ll cross the log bridge of the river between Gumgang and Yak Khangsar. Overnight at Yak Kharka.

Day 13: Yak kharka to Thorong Phedi

After having a warm breakfast at Yak Kharka we’ll now head towards the Thorong Phedi. Our trail leads us through the high suspension bridge which takes us to Ledar village. After a few hours of trek, we’ll reach Thorong Phedi where we’ll have our overnight.

Day 14: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass

The day starts with beautiful mountain views and a warm and delicious breakfast. From early morning we’ll be climbing the mountain so it would be tough to walk today. After crossing the Pass we’ll now head towards the Muktinath valley where we’ll have our overnight.

Day 15: Muktinath to Jomsom

After a delicious breakfast at Muktinath now we’ll start our trail. We’ll first climb down to Kagbeni which is the main economic hub of this region. Now we’ll trek down to the elegant headquarter Jomsom. Overnight at Jomsom.

Day 16: Drive or fly back to Pokhara

Now we’ll head back to Pokhara after leaving the beautiful Jomsom village. We can drive through a bus or we can fly back to Pokhara through the flight. It would be a breathtaking flight or ride towards Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu

Now it’s time for us to return back to Kathmandu. It would be an exciting drive back to Kathmandu which will be 6 hours long. You’ll be filled with the beauty of hills, mountains, and rivers on the way. After reaching Kathmandu you can rest at the hotel or you can explore the valley.

Day 18: Drive to international airport and departure

As it is the last day of yours at Kathmandu. Now you can enjoy the half-day by doing shopping or by exploring. Then our representative member will drive you back to TIA Kathmandu with some good farewell.
