Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most awe-inspiring and remote trekking experiences, offering the perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural depth, and physical challenge. Circling the majestic Mount Manaslu (8,163m)—the eighth-highest mountain in the world—this trek presents an exceptional opportunity to explore a less-traveled Himalayan region that remains beautifully untouched by modernization and mass tourism.

Spanning approximately 177 kilometers, the Manaslu Circuit Trek leads you through a diverse range of landscapes from low lying sub-tropical forests and rice terraces to alpine meadows and towering glacial valleys. The route ascends steadily through deep gorges carved by the Budi Gandaki River, flanked by steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls, before reaching the high Himalayan zone where the scenery becomes stark, snowy, and majestic.

The dramatic highlight of the trek is crossing the Larkya La Pass (5,160m) a breathtaking and challenging high mountain pass that rewards trekkers with panoramic views of Himalayan giants such as Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II.
What makes the Manaslu Circuit even more unique is its deeply rooted cultural heritage. The region is home to Gurung and Tibetan origin communities who have preserved their traditional way of life for centuries.

Trekkers are warmly welcomed into stone built villages, where locals still wear traditional clothing, celebrate ancient festivals, and speak dialects influenced by Tibetan culture.

Along the trail, you’ll encounter centuries old monasteries, mani walls, prayer flags, and chortens reflecting the spiritual ambiance that defines life in the high Himalayas. The village of Sama Gaun, nestled beneath Mount Manaslu, is a spiritual highlight of the journey, offering views of the majestic mountain as well as access to Pungyen Gompa and Manaslu Base Camp.

Unlike the popular Everest and Annapurna regions, the Manaslu Circuit is far less crowded, making it ideal for trekkers seeking peace, solitude, and authenticity. The limited number of trekkers each season helps preserve the natural and cultural integrity of the region. It’s not uncommon to walk for hours without encountering other groups, allowing for a deeper connection with nature and the local people.

At Adventure Himalaya Nepal, we specialize in crafting authentic Himalayan experiences, and the Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of our proudest offerings. With years of experience in guiding trekkers through Nepal’s most remote trails, we ensure professional guidance, tailored itineraries, and comfortable teahouse accommodations throughout the journey.

Whether you are a solo adventurer, a couple, or part of a small group, we provide personalized support every step of the way.
Our licensed guides are not only trained in high-altitude trekking and safety but also deeply knowledgeable about the culture, history, and environment of the Manaslu region ensuring an enriching experience beyond just the physical journey.

The Manaslu Circuit lies within a restricted area, which means there are specific regulations that trekkers must follow. A special trekking permit is required, and you must trek with a licensed guide and in a group of at least two trekkers. We take care of all necessary paperwork and logistics so you can focus on enjoying your adventure.
